Smoking: green tea as a panacea
Can be useful to the smoker for green tea prevent cancer? – It turns out, yes!
Taiwanese researchers from the Chung Shan Medical University first presented to the international community oncologists study proving pronounced anticarcinogenic effect of green tea.
The researchers concluded that regular consumption of green tea reduces the risk of lung cancer in 4,9 times, and among smokers, especially the risk of the disease – in as much as 13 times.
Taiwanese doctors have made a bold conclusion that green tea can neutralize the harm of smoking and become a reliable means of preventing lung cancer in smokers.
The study presented this week at the Congress of the American Association of cancer researchers. After analyzing the lifestyle, heredity and nutrition 160 lung cancer patients and 350 healthy volunteers, doctors found a strong inverse correlation between risk of lung cancer and the presence in the diet of green tea.
First such results have not succeeded in science, although studies that demonstrate the preventive value of green tea, published in abundance. The most massive of them were held in 2008 and involved thousands of volunteers. It was concluded that green tea if you drink it at least five glasses per day, a 34% lower mortality from cardiovascular disease. Earlier, Japanese researchers have found that one glass of green tea per day by 44% reduces the risk of heart attack.
It was also found that green tea contains not only antioxidants, but also substances that have therapeutic and preventive treatment for arthritis.
